On-board Facilities

Finding your seat

Each seat in your carriage has its own number, from 1 to 76. You’ll find odd numbers next to the window and even numbers next to the aisle. A member of our on-board staff will be happy to assist you if you need help finding your seat or any of the facilities on our trains.

Wheelchair space

All our trains have space for at least two wheel chairs but unfortunately we cannot accommodate wheelchairs that exceed 120cm in length x 75cm in width. Wheelchair spaces vary between our Mallard trains and electric Mallards. On Mallard trains, you’ll find a wheelchair accessible toilet in Standard Class carriage F and one in First Class carriage L. If you’d like to know what type of train you’ll be travelling on, please call Assisted Travel on 08457 225 225, selecting option 1, then option 6. You can also find out where seats are located by calling the same number.

Quiet Carriage

onboard_facilitiesIf you’re looking for a quiet, peaceful area in which to enjoy your journey, then the Quiet Carriage located in carriage B could suit you. It’s at the end of the train, with the least through-traffic, so there should be minimal disturbance during your journey.

We ask all passengers travelling in the Quiet Carriage to respect the following rules:

  • No making or receiving mobile phone calls in this carriage. Please go to the vestibule at the end of the carriage to talk on the phone.
  • Use all electrical equipment in silent mode.
  • If chatting with fellow passengers, please do so quietly and with consideration
    for others.
